Smooth has been offering permanent cosmetic services since 1988, starting from his hair studio, in Madison WI. Smooth, licensed as an Apprentice Cosmetologist starting in 1982, after two years received his full regular operators license. He further tested and received his Managing Cosmetologist License, which he still holds today.
Smooth pioneered proper developing Permanent Cosmetic techniques. He knew this work would require a focused approach, so he closed the hair studio and worked only in tattooing, opening his first studio, Ultimate Arts Custom Tattooing. After 13 years in Madison, he sold the studio and moved his operations to Sauk City. Smooth Fx Custom Tattooing is now home to one of the worlds finest cosmetic artist.
