Piercing Aftercare Instructions
It is your responsibility to read and follow these
directions!
For every piercing we use new sterilized needle. All
other instruments used are sterilized in a chemiclave pressure sterilizer.
Your hygiene practices will play a large role in avoiding infections and proper
healing. If you have any questions, please contact us.
*** Ice your new piercing ***
Care of your new Piercing
- Always wash
your hands before touching your new piercing. Have anyone else wishing to
touch your piercing do the same.
- Irrigate
your new ear piercing 1-3 times per day with Piercing Care or Saline
solution. We recommend H2Ocean. Be sure to completely clean the entire
surface of the jewelry.
- Gently dry
the area. Some soreness, mild bleeding, and redness are normal parts of
the immediate healing process.
- After your
piercing is healed we recommend you continue to completely clean the
entire contact area of the jewelry a few times a week. This helps for
long-term health of your piercing.
Additional care for Eyebrow Piercing
- We recommend NOT wearing eye-makeup. Also avoid using facial
cleansers, other than H2Ocean. and moisturizers in the area of the
piercing during the healing time.
Additional care of your new Body Piercing
- Tight clothing around the
piercing can drastically increase the amount of time the piercing will
take to heal. Try to wear loose clothing as much as possible. Also be
wary of other incidental contact (i.e. carrying items, getting up from a
table, seat belts, etc.).
- Swelling is very normal. Using
ice will help reduce this.
- Also avoid using moisturizers
in the area of the piercing during the healing time.
Care of your new Oral Piercing
- Wash your new piercing with
Listerine, or equivalent mouthwash, after anything enters your mouth.
- Wash your mouth out in the
morning and at night with mouthwash.
- Swelling is very normal. Using
ice will help reduce this.
- A new tongue piercing
increases the chances of transmitting an STD until they are healed; use
caution.
- For the tongue, come see us
when your tongue has returned to its normal shape and we will swap you for
a shorter bar if needed.
