My buddy Steve... Although I was only able to do one tattoo on him, we became good friends outside the studio. Ironically, the tattoo was a memorial piece for his father; over his heart.
Steve was my auction partner. We rarely planned an auction trip together, but inevitably we would end up at the same ones. Many times bidding on items for each other in different rings. The home I live in now was the last auction site we were at together. I asked Steve to bid on an old pitcher and bowl for me, because I was working on a chair in another ring. I'll never forget the big cocky smile as he brought it to me. It was the victory he enjoyed for sure <lol>. I pretended to be a little upset about him going over by five bucks; he didn't care, he won. In fact he offered me the five bucks back. The old bedroom pitcher and bowl set are not for sale... ever.
Steve proudly served as Firefighter #27 of the Prairie du Sac Fire Department. His life was cut short December 2nd, 2004, by a freak accident related to his job. No one was ready to say, "goodbye" to a man full of so much life. Besides his love for life, he had even a greater love for his wife, Tammy, and step-daughter, Tara. This big man had a big heart, and was ready to help anyone in need; especially those who wouldn't ask. Steve cast a big shadow in life, and leaves an equal big hole in the lives of those who shared in his company.
God bless you my Brother... watch over us at every fire call.
